One alpha isn't enough for this omega...
Sawyer escaped his oppressive pack only to be captured and sold into a worse fate. That is, until Keaton, a handsome alpha wolf, sets him free. This mysterious wolf has no interest in exploiting Sawyer's omega body, and instead offers him a place in the Rosewater pack. The pack is a close-knit group of misfits and escapees, a perfect place for Sawyer to call home.
Keaton has led the Rosewater pack for years. He's proud to lead such a progressive group, but he has one secret he fears might ruin the respect he's managed to earn over the years He's in love with Vasquez, an alpha jaguar from a rival pack. Dealing with this secret has made things complicated enough, but now Sawyer, a sassy omega, has entered the mix.
Vasquez will never join the Rosewater pack, even if Keaton leads it. He knows it pains Keaton to keep their relationship a secret, but they knew what they were getting into from the start. What Vasquez never anticipated, however, was his attraction to the scent of omega on Keaton's skin. Having both an alpha and omega as mates... just the thought gets Vasquez hot. But how can such a forbidden relationship last?
Welcome to the Dirty South, where it's not just the weather that's scorching. This is a complete standalone novel with explicit scenes, knotting, mpreg, and a guaranteed happy ending! So pour yourself a glass of iced tea, because it's about to get hot!

I DNF this book at 55% because I just didn't like any of the main characters. You have Keaton, the alpha mated to Vasquez in secret for 8 years, who breaks it off with him because of a pack treaty--which I can see and expect to be really painful for him--but instead he takes up with Sawyer about a week later. After 8 years I would have thought he'd be a little more broken up about it! He also doesn't tell Sawyer about this situation (he can't mate again or produce children with anyone else)--never considering that, as an omega, Sawyer might be seeing mating and children with Keaton in his future. As a matter of fact Keaton doesn't tell him, Sawyer finds outs out in the worst way possible. So I'm not liking Keaton. Then you have Vasquez...Vasquez is just slimy. Everything for him is about forbidden fruit and pushing the boundaries. He seems to want Keaton most because it's risky, forbidden, and naughty. He asks Sawyer about being shared, when he know Sawyer really dislikes him, by asking if he likes "hate sex". Classy. He also refuses to leave his current pack which really thrives on hate and violence and seems one step away from imploding. So the character I would have expected to like and feel sorry for is Sawyer, but that was a no-go too. Sawyer has been given a real gift to find this open and loving pack but he persists in being a loner with a chip on his shoulder because he thinks everyone expects him to be "just an omega". He self hates and pushes everyone away because of projecting his past pack's sins on them. Then he decides to take up with Keaton but insists it be kept a secret, again because he assumes he'll be judged to be ruled by his omega biology. He meets and cannot stand Vasquez but somehow later (sometime after I quit reading) is willing to be a shared mate with him? I wouldn't have stayed with Keaton after finding out his dirty little secret, much less have been intrigued with the idea of having babies with someone I practically hate and being in some twisted menage. Uh, and does nobody at that point realize that the babies could wind up being jaguar shifters and out them? I just didn't like these people or where things were going so I gave up on the book. I can't read a "love story" where I don't respect people or their motivations. It's a shame because I have liked other things by this author.Product details

Dirty South The Omega Alphas A Menage Mpreg Shifter Alpha Omega Romance edition by Devi Firesong Romance eBooks Reviews
I received a free copy from Devi Firesong on Facebook MM Romance ARC Club, for a honest review.
I'm a sucker for mpreg books. I love to see how a author spins it, to make it happen. This story starts out with our omega that ran from his pack due to the way they treated their omega's. Sawyer gets into trouble and saved by a alpha. Then the twist comes when said alpha is mated to another alpha, which is forbidden by most packs. It's very interesting to see how Devin spins it to a happy ever after. Which I thought might not happen for a little while. Once I started reading I found it hard to put down! While I do like to have my mpreg towards the middle and drawn out more to see how the males experience it, it's still a very good book. I look forward to the next book! Thank you for letting me read it.
I was happy for the chance to read an arc of Dirty South for an honest review because lately I've been into Mpreg and the synopsis was appealing. Unfortunately, I'm sad to say this one didn't hit the mark for me. I never ended up liking any of the characters, not even a little. To me their reasoning for certain things just wasn't compelling enough and really boiled down to stubbornness for the sake of the plot. Not only did I never like the characters it didn't really seem like they truly liked each other very much. Okay, maybe they all liked each other, but there was no sense of love between them. They were all very take me or leave me. No connection. No longing or need.
For me personally I need my characters to love and need each other, especially in this particular genre. I of course would like to fall in love with them too, but I'm happy if I at least just like them. I'm usually incredibly understanding with motivations/actions, especially when explained well, but I just thought these guys were being a bit ridiculous. With all that said I can't say I wouldn't read something else by Devi Firesong. The writing ability is there I just didn't care for the content. Perhaps a different story would be more appealing and I'm definitely open to that in the future. So unfortunately this one is a pass for me but again that's just because I need more feeling and emotion from my MCs but this might be great for you.
I think that this is only the second book I have ever read from this author, and although I definitely liked it more than the first book I read, there were aspects of this story that left me a bit confused and also hoping for a bit *more* to make me love the story.
The summary is pretty self explanatory - Keaton, the alpha of the Rosewater pack, rescues Sawyer, an omega who was on the run from his pack and had been captured. Keaton is in a secret relationship with Vasquez, an alpha from the neighboring pack, and has been with him for YEARS, But once he is able to make peace with the other pack with a treaty, he's quick to end things with Vasquez and he moves on to Sawyer in like a week - that was one thing that struck me as a bit odd. It just seemed too easy for Keaton to move on.
Vasquez was also a hard to figure out character - like, I could never figure out his motivation (why wouldn't he just leave his pack? The only reason I could come up with was that there were humans in Keaton's pack? And he hated humans.) And I just didn't see the chemistry and romance between Vasquez and Sawyer. Sawyer hated Vasquez at first, and it didn't seem like sexy, UST-filled flirting either.
Even Sawyer was hard to figure out - he was so dead set on the pack not knowing that he was sleeping with Keaton, and I don't think anyone in the pack would care. And he was also determined to not be a typical omega, but he also didn't seem to know what that would be anyway.
So, yes. The motivations and actions of these characters just didn't add up and make sense for me.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
