Part One

When powerful cattle rancher and ex-soldier Mac Lucas hears that rustlers are nearby, his first thought is for the safety of his pretty, shy neighbor Abby Proudfoot and her father Ethan. But rustlers are not the only danger Abby has to contend with, and when she is hurt, Mac needs to step in fast to protect her from further harm.

Wary, Abby has always kept her distance from Mac, but this time he isn’t taking ‘no’ for an answer. Taken to his ranch for her own protection, she soon discovers that her heart is at as much risk as her body.

As the two fall in love, Abby is shocked to learn that Mac believes that good relationships should have rules – which should be reinforced with a firm hand. Can Abby accept that sometimes a thorough spanking is for her own good? And when she inadvertently puts both of their lives at risk, will she accept the consequences to save them both?

Part Two

Mac and Abby are happily married, but there are problems looming. While Abby adores the physical side of their marriage, she struggles to trust Mac enough to share the intimacy of her thoughts and desires. When Mac realizes how much she’s hiding from him, he hopes that a good, hard spanking will teach her how to trust. But to his dismay he discovers that it will take more than one session over his knee to teach her the family values she needs to learn. When Abby hides from him that she’s being threatened and sexually harassed, she finds herself in a situation where her life is once again in danger!

Okay, to begin, there are few grammar issues, no names are mixed up, and there aren't any glaring plot holes. That being said, when I say an editor I'd need, it is because I don't know if the author has been to Wyoming. We don't ring people, it is a doctor's office, but surgery, and the list goes on. It's gone eight, changing Rota, these aren't phrases I have ever heard here. It really took me out of the story. With how it's written, it seems it would have fared much better being set either in the UK, or in the late 1800's, which would have made the mistakes less jarring.
The book is blah. There are serious issues introduced, but kind of skimmed over. Sex is not described in the book, but there are non erotic spankings, which is a strange dichotomy. The hero has little spine, no personality unless he is saying poetic prose like, "I died a thousand deaths...." yadda yadda yadda. It means, you don't connect with any of the characters, and they are just cardboard representations of the boring couple without a hobby or flaw to mitigate their milquetoast personas. The author is decent, but I feel she is more inclined to the clean, Christian romance genre, which isn't bad, but isn't how this book is described (Christian romance being the tone, though religion is never mentioned).
I think the author should try historical romance and eliminate the spanking. It added nothing and just made Wtf moments that messed with the Pollyanna tone of the book. Anytime we have the hint of a plot, it goes away. Stick to these difficult plot elements that deal with sexual assault, or don't include them if they can't be carried out.
I do not recommend this book to any reader

I have mixed feelings on this story. On one hand, the love that Abby and Mac feel for one another is definitely felt by the reader. But, I also had a few problems with some of the times that Mac spanked Abby.

Abby is a neighbor of Mac's. She has had feelings for him for several years but has kept them to herself. Mac comes to see Abby and her father about the rustlers in the area. Once there he realizes that the brain tumor Abby's dad suffers from has changed him and he has become violent. He takes Abby and her dad to his home to care for until the father dies. In the meantime, he and Abby fall in love and discuss the place spanking will have in their lives. The rustler situation gets taken care of and then we move to part 2 of the story. (II believe this is two novellas that have been put together.) In part 2, Abby and Mac start their life together and the problems that can occur in the beginning of a relationship start to manifest. Abby finds it difficult to confide her fears and desires about their sex life to Mac. And then later there is a serious situation with a co-worker who has threatened her.

I did enjoy this story, but I feel that the only reason Abby is getting spanked is to relieve her unnecessary guilt. She needs more of a spine and Mac needs to be spanked for spanking her just because she is anxious. But, it was an enjoyable read and you can feel the love between Abby and Mac. The author portrays that well! I give this 4 stars.
The story is filled with romance The plot is well written and touches a hard issue and making sure that the victim understands that sexual assault and harassment is Not her fault The Hero is strong male is there for the heroine as a friend and lover but the heroine has trust issues can she learn to trust him and follow her heart
I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this book. The blurb sounded a lot better than it was. Normally I'll read a book in one sitting, but this one I kept putting down to read something else. Honestly, don't waste your money or time.
I couldn't finish it. The characters were boring. They were all Pollyanna. The story was so predictable. Nothing new and no character development. Just AWFUL
This book was about a young woman, Abby, and the young man who had been sweet on her for a long time. Mac was gentle and kind. Neither knows much about physical loving so they learn together.

Abby was the one asking for the spankings and Mac didn't want to spank ...he was tenderhearted even though he was the one who wanted to have spanking in the marriage.
I wonder how much the writer knows of Wyoming, because a cosy, milk in tea, rotas, and some other things are British, not ranching in Wyoming. It took a bit from the flow but otherwise, I enjoyed this sweet story of young love as they learn to be married.
Abby had had a crush on Mac like forever, but was afraid to voice it for fear she would be laughed at because she thought she was out of his league. He'd been attracted just as long but could never get her alone to talk to her, till the rustlers came to their county. He went to her ranch and told her she wasn't safe at her farm until the rustlers were caught. Her father was in late stages of brain cancer and had become delusional and abused her. Mac was a natural born protector and made her safety and well being his number one priority. When they were on the verge of becoming engaged, he revealed to her his belief in traditional marriage and domestic discipline. Though appalled at the concept at first, she was willing to accept becoming a spanked wife after she understood it was consensual. She earns a lot of spanking for not telling Mac things that bother her and letting them come to a head. She had no female friends when they met, that she could ask about sexual matters, so it was confusing to her what was right or wrong in the sexual area. She goes to work part time unaware that her boss was a sexual predator. Will Mac rescue her in time from that dastardly creep, like he did with the rustlers?
